Empowering local people to overcome life's challenges
In March, 2026 we lost Garry Leo - OAM. A dear friend and devoted board member and representative of the Hunter Prostate Cancer Association for over 10 years. He was a tireless advocate for prostate cancer awareness, frequently attending functions to emphasize the importance of early detection and regular GP assessments. In 2023, Garry was rightfully awarded an OAM for his extensive community service.

GP Psychiatry Support Line is a free service to GPs to help manage the care of mental health consumers.
ProCare’s Expert Team of
Mental Health Clinicians
ProCare’s multidisciplinary team of specialists provide psychiatry, psychology (clinical and registered), accredited counselling, and speech pathology associated with dementia.
Dr Martin Cohen is the clinical lead for the team, collaborating with Hunter New England Health, GPs, community groups, and other stakeholders. This collective approach helps us to provide timely and appropriate care to the community.
